The 50-30 Challenge: What Works Tool Kit (Released Fall 2022)
The What Works Toolkit is an online toolkit, designed for Canadian organizations looking to adopt equity and diversity initiatives within their organizations. It includes tangible actions organizations and individuals can take, resources designed to set out policies and approaches for recruitment, mentorship, promotion, and retention of board members and employees, as well as anti-racism, anti-harassment, and inclusive workplace strategies, and other related relevant activities and initiatives. The toolkit also features examples from Canadian organizations, profiling diversity successes.
To assist community partners and stakeholders explore the benefits of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access in the Canadian workplace, marketplace and community, the IDEAS4GE Team in collaboration with the 50 – 30 Challenge and KPMG Canada Team has aligned some key Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Solution Opportunities with the 50 – 30 Challenge What Works Tool Kit. Women and the Workplace Symposium Report and Resources
In May 2019, the Government of Canada hosted a two-day Symposium on Women and the Workplace at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
At the event, 240 Canadian leaders and champions of workplace gender equality and diversity shared best practices to inspire and advance women’s participation in the workplace. Presenters and participants came from the public and private sector, unions, academia, industry and human resource associations, and civil society organizations.

A Guide to Launching a National to Empower Women’s – A Canadian Experience
- The CCEW Early Journey: This guide shares the steps taken to promote awareness on the benefits of Women’s Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality and the launch of the CCEW. This work laid the foundation for the expanded Intersectional GBA+ approach to achieve the recovery and full participation of women and all genders in all their diversity in the workplace, market place and community in Canada.
