Scotiabank
As noted in the WE EMPOWER: Responsible Business Conduct in G7 Countries release, Scotiabank has set up 21 employee focus groups across Canada and its Pacific Alliance Countries (Mexico, Peru, Chile & Columbia) to obtain feedback on the barriers to achieving gender balance in leadership roles.
They were recently recognized for their work aligned with the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPS) specifically:
- Principle #1: Establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality;
- Principle #4: Promote education, training and professional development for women and;
- Principle #6: Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy at the Celebrating Women in STEM – Empowerment Gala.

Bank of Montreal (BMO), McKenzie Box and Melissa Sampth-Persaud, accept a Commendation presented by BPW Canada, Vice President Karin Gorgerat, joined by BPW Ontario President Maide Yazar – October 25th, 2016.
