DEI Fundamentals and Unconscious Bias
This workshop (Core Course) is delivered as part of the UN Global Compact Network Canada’s support to 50 – 30 Challenge participants in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion. This fundamentals workshop is designed to provide an overview of the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and discusses why these should be prioritized in Canadian workplaces. It will also delve into the topic of unconscious bias and its different manifestations including sources and types of bias. Participants will have the opportunity to explore what it means to be a diversity champion during the session through facilitated case studies, peer-to-peer learning, and other capacity building activities. At the end of the session, participants will better able to mitigate bias, embrace differences, and return to their workplace with strategies and reflective changes to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion.
