Think Twice: Understanding Unconscious Bias – a WEPs deep-dive series #3
Think Twice: Understanding Unconscious Bias
Even the most open-minded person has unconscious biases. Biases may be held by an individual or a group and can have negative or positive consequences. Unconscious biases are created and reinforced by our environments and experiences. Our mind is constantly processing information, oftentimes, without our conscious awareness. When we are moving fast or lack all the data, our unconscious biases fill in the gaps, influencing everything from product decisions to our interactions with coworkers.
This workshop is designed to showcase what bias is, how and where it shows up, and what you can do about it. Our goal is for the participants to fully understand where bias comes from and what they can do about it. We will create a common language which will allow us to help us openly discuss bias in order to move past them.
This workshop will be led by Hexagon, a WEPs signatory company.
